Medical Health
SHS has developed a new cloud-based screening platform that can identify patients with a sleeping disorder by utilizing a quick and easy algorithmic tool.Patient Sleep Risk
The CDC declares sleep disorders as a public health epidemic. They report that 30-55% of the population has a sleeping disorder and of these figures, 80% of them go undiagnosed. Many of these disorders are associated with a number of chronic diseases and conditions such as diabetes, cardiovascular disease, obesity, and depression.
Current State of Sleep Screening Issues
- In-patient sleep studies are more difficult to get approved by insurance companies
- Home tests are limited in the diagnosis
- Incomplete tools to identify sleep disorders
- Doctors lacking a singular communication tool between all healthcare teams
- Patients lacking peace of mind that all healthcare providers have updated medical information
Solution
The SHS cloud-based platform is designed to assist in detecting the full range of sleep disorders, with the acknowledgment that the initial validation and testing focus on the most common, insomnia and sleep apnea. High-risk patients with significant sleep disorders along with patients with minimal clinical symptoms and sleep issues can now be identified and tracked over time. This closed-loop healthcare system allows for improved prevention and management of sleep issues.
